6 DAYS A SACRIFICE By Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw 196 YEARS AGO: - The DeFoe Manor Incident takes place. Trilby, the master thief, successfully destroys the body of vengeful wraith John DeFoe and escapes his clutches. (5 Days A Stranger) - After being caught in a reality shift at the Clanbronwyn Hotel, Trilby learns the nature of the Ethereal Realm and the Scientific Realm, of the demonic deity Chzo, and the plan to create a bridge between the realms by destroying the three aspects of John DeFoe. He has the Soul blasted into space to prevent that from happening, but this only serves as a delaying tactic. Meanwhile, Chzo's acolyte, Cabadath, aka the Tall Man, crosses over to the Scientific Realm to orchestrate the building of the Bridge. (Trilby's Notes) 196 YEARS FROM NOW: - The Soul is recovered by the scoutship Mephistopheles, floating unprotected in space. After John DeFoe's influence kills off the entire crew save one, Dr. Jonathan Somerset, the Soul is finally destroyed in the ship's engines. It is then discovered that Somerset is an impostor, and he is arrested. (7 Days A Skeptic) TODAY: JULY 22nd, 2189 - Theo DaCabe, a surveying officer for Buckinghamshire County Council, is assigned to run a routine health and safety assessment on the headquarters of a fad religion called Optimology. Little does he realise that he is about to be caught up in the machinations of destiny, and a plot that has simmered for two centuries. CHARACTERS Theodore DaCabe A council building inspector content to work his dull little job for most of his life and eventually retire on a dull little pension. A chance encounter plunges him into a world of nightmare and anguish, where his body, mind and soul will be tested to breaking point. Samantha Harty A scientist employed to complete some biotechnological work by a shady organisation. She is somewhat amoral, having been previously blacklisted from most research laboratories for what some considered inethical work. She almost certainly knows more than she reveals. Janine Orzechowski A journalist for a local news site, obsessed with the idea of making the big break. A naive young woman who has gathered too many inaccurate ideas about journalistic life from watching too many glamorous movies and dramas. Canning A proud member of the mysterious group holding Theo, Sam and Janine prisoner, who antagonises our heroes with religious zeal. In reality, he may well be just as much a prisoner as the others. 'Trilby' Trilby appears to be the exact same Trilby who defeated John DeFoe 196 years ago. But he has no memory of this, and seems remarkably youthful for a man who should be nearly three centuries old. He also demonstrates a baffling ability to come back from the dead. The Tall Man The avatar of Chzo, his body stretched into a mockery of human form, stalks the hallways of the facility. Why is he here? What schemes are simmering behind that faceless mask? And why is he so obsessed with killing Trilby? The Man in Red A mysterious figure who appears to be trying to help Theo and the others. Who is he? What is his agenda? And why does he exhibit the power to alter reality to his will? CONTACT My website is at www.fullyramblomatic.com. Stop on by the forum if you need help or have an issue you would like to raise.
